Nice Presley film that contains nice songs. As usual, the story is not very special, but the humor is quite enjoyable.

Nice/typical Elvis film where everyone can expect what they are offered. Nice songs with quite pleasant humor. Story, plot, dialogues are not really special. A small 3.0.

It may be true that Elvis was sick of these types of films, but it doesn't show. I just see a nice, fresh beach movie with enough humor and a great story. Had a good laugh with it. The songs are also great - they sound much better here than on the poorly mixed soundtrack that was released afterwards. Worth mentioning is the role of Gary Crosby - son of Bing - as Elvis's band member. He also has a line “the King is dead” that should sound realistic to rock'n roll fans when they see this pulp. But… I personally like this kind of pulp. Producer on duty was Joe Pasternak, who had previously produced a classic in the college kids/beach genre with Where The Boys Are. And this Girl Happy belongs to the same breed.
