Somewhat strange drama in which Elvis finally acts properly again. The song In My Way is one of his most beautiful. Furthermore, the film gets a bit messy and the drama loses out to the romance. One of the better Elvis films and also one of the lesser known. Above average.

A pseudo-literary Elvis production, in which Elvis Presley is a troubled young man (i.e. Glenn Tyler) with a talent for writing.

An honest and perhaps also one of the better films by Elvis Presley, which is, however, full of clichés. Of course it's especially nice to hear Elvis Presley's short songs (including "Wild In The Country", "In My Way" and "I Slipped, I Stumbled, I Fell"), with the accompanying performance. The story is quite long (about 110 minutes) and therefore tedious here and there.

Apart from Elvis Presley, we also see the pretty fun Hope Lange, as the compassionate social worker Irene Sperry, who tries to set him straight by encouraging him to develop his gift and become a writer.

All in all nice to have seen this old 60s Drama movie with "The King of Rock and Roll".

A somewhat forgotten film and one of the last film roles that Elvis himself was satisfied with. And with good reason, I think. It's a good drama with a James Dean approach. Elvis plays the tormented youth who is pulled back and forth between three women. Off screen he had a relationship with Tuesday Weld but the one in the movie that impresses me the most is Hope Lange. The highlight is the love scene in the motel. There Elvis also proves what he has to offer. The songs are kept to a minimum and that's a good thing because it would further detract from the drama.

It's a movie where the story became more important to me than the presence of Elvis. That is not to say that it was all overdone in the previous films. It often revolved around the show talents of Elvis in terms of storytelling. Here he plays a boy at the bottom of society with no frills. For me one of the best Elvis movies I've seen (in chronological order) so far. Up to this point you could say that it is not too bad with his acting career, which is certainly not inferior to entertainers of the caliber Doris Day and Bing Crosby.
