Maison Close plot

'Le Paradis', a luxury brothel in Paris in 1871. We meet three women who feel trapped in a world of appearances. The very young Rose, has come to Paris because she was looking for her mother, a former prostitute. After a pimp cunningly recruits the unsuspecting girl, she goes to work in Paradis. Then we have Vera. She is already 35 and realizes that her days as a prostitute are numbered. But she is deeply in debt and desperately needs the money. And Hortense, the madame of the brothel, also has her problems. In addition to taking care of her girls, she is heavily pressured by a criminal.
