Hilma and Ola are a happy couple with only one real problem: they just can't manage to have a child. While one baby after another is born in their social environment, Hilma just doesn't want to get pregnant. However, they continue to try and start IVF treatment. Meanwhile, unwanted but well-meaning advice from friends and acquaintances leads to even more frustration.

Lof voor het maken van een serie over een gevoelig onderwerp; ondanks allerlei pogingen, therapieën en goed bedoelde tips niet zwanger kunnen raken. Terwijl iedereen om je heen kinderen krijgt. Het overkomt Hilma (Alba August - Below The Surface) en Ola (Björn Gustafsson) in de Zweedse dramady Everyone But Us. Grootste probleem van de 10-delige (korte) serie is dat de humor flauw, plat en totaal niet grappig is. Het comedy element is zo zwaar aangezet dat het serieuze onderwerp kopje onder gaat aan meligheid en puberaal en onbenullig gedrag van de hoofdrolspelers. De rol van Ola wordt zo geforceerd, irritant en onvolwassen neergezet dat je je bijna afvraagt waarom Hilma nóg een kind wil. Gemiste kans.

Praise for creating a series on a sensitive subject; not being able to get pregnant despite all kinds of attempts, therapies and well-intentioned tips. While everyone around you is having children. It happens to Hilma (Alba August - Below The Surface) and Ola (Björn Gustafsson) in the Swedish dramady Everyone But Us. The biggest problem of the 10-part (short) series is that the humor is bland, flat and not funny at all. The comedy element is so heavily accentuated that the serious subject is submerged by corniness and adolescent and insignificant behavior of the protagonists. The role of Ola is so forced, annoying and immature that you almost wonder why Hilma wants another child. Missed opportunity.
