The 6th Day in itself is a fine film for what you can expect. The action and humor are fine. Story is just fun too.

Weak.

Roger Spottiswoode seems to want to piggyback on Paul Verhoeven's success with Arnold Schwarzenegger. At least, that idea hit me after 5 minutes of watching and actually stayed with me for the entire film. Everything about this movie seems to want to look like something like Total Recall, but it just doesn't grab. The film is sloppily directed - the unsurprising twists and turns are rather clumsy, Schwarzenegger barely comes into its own and the humor is almost non-existent. Released in 2000, but still very 90ies in look. In itself, this film could have been a fun guilty pleasure, but it never actually existed.
