"It's nothing personal."

Her son John (Edward Furlong) will one day become the resistance leader who takes on the supercomputer Skynet. Skynet is now sending a new, deadlier Terminator (T-1000, Robert Patrick) to the present to eliminate John. The Resistance then sends a reprogrammed Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger) to the present to protect John.

An improvement over the first part, the film could also count on a budget that was more than 15 times higher. Schwarzenegger is back in the party, in the later parts it turned out that he cannot be replaced in the series. As a surprise, we also get Robert Patrick who takes down one of the most legendary enemies. That's partly due to the impression that part 1 left and the image we had of The Terminator. If it's going to have a hard time after what we saw in part 1, it must be a strong enemy!

More CGI that is really well done. After all, the film is also 30 years old now. The whole thing is a bit braver now, the rough kills have brushed off a bit and give way to more explosives. But it shouldn't necessarily be more of the same either. We really get to see an upgrade from the franchise. You can say what you want about Cameron's film, but visually his films have always stood the test of time.

Damn what a time that was. A topper like T2 in the cinema and hard rock from Guns N' Roses in the charts. Eternally grateful to be a young teenager in the fantastic 1991!

5 stars
