I've always had a soft spot for K-Pax. I used to have it on VHS, but regretted not being able to see it anymore. Also on TV it has been a while since he appeared again and given the revelations about Spacey I don't see that changing immediately. In any case, an intriguing premise where a man claims to come from another planet. Reminds me in that respect of The man from Earth (2007), in which the mystical and mysterious are also central.

K-Pax is quite intriguing because the film doesn't take a clear position. The film alternates moments where on the one hand you really think that Prot is extraterrestrial, on the other hand there are at least as many scenes that want to demonstrate the opposite. The open end also connects seamlessly. The film is also carried by an excellent Kevin Spacey. He plays a fairly credible role and Bridges is also well cast.

Despite the dramatic elements, it is still a fairly light-hearted film. Life in the psychiatric institution was also reasonably pleasant without extremes. Nice soundtrack too. The fact that Dr. Powell takes Prot home was a bit strange to me, not done actually. Given the contrasts between Prot and the Earthlings, you can also detect some humor here and there so that the film looks very nice. Enjoyed again, small 4.0 *.

A tough movie this time. I'm quite an experienced movie watcher I think, but this time I'm not so sure. I feel like I went off track at the end. I didn't understand the story anymore. Have I not been paying close attention and have I overlooked something essential? Or was there something else? So I don't really know what to think of the film or whether I should give it three stars or more or less. The movie looked great and the time flew by. Lots of interesting things happened and it was all very exciting. It was also well acted. All nothing to complain about. So only the question remains; Why didn't I understand the movie at the end? Maybe I should check it out again. But I'm also afraid that it won't really stick this way and if I go to see it next time, it could just be that it seems like I'm seeing it again for the first time and that I'll get stuck again at the end. Time will tell.

Apparently hadn't seen this one yet, 'shame on me'. Very fascinating film, with a very strong Kevin Spacey and also Jeff Bridges as Dr. powell.

Nice mystery drama, in combination with the humor and a pleasant atmosphere, a very successful marriage. Thick 8/10.
