Men in Black (1997) is an original and graphically impressive sf-comedy with the necessary action. A young Will Smith gets involved in the fight against rogue Aliens, forming a fun duo with Tommy Lee Jones. The red tom also plays a good role.

Nice video, without a doubt. That is not in the least because of the duo Will Smith-Tommy Lee Jones. Contrary to my expectations, I even found Smith the nicer of the two; his character leans more towards the comic, and that's how I always appreciate Smith. But at least it's a duo that is entertaining. The effects are quite wrong, but that still creates a charming atmosphere. Too many crazy or creative things don't happen there, and it remains very standard within the known lines, but an hour and a half of uncomplicated entertainment this is for sure. The role of Linda Fiorentino was also nice, but apparently it does not return in the sequels. 3* for this first part.

Meh yes.
Watched it again last night after about twenty years, in order to finally be able to put a vote. It turned out that I didn't remember much about it afterwards - perhaps a good thing, but the well-known nostalgia logically also remained behind.
In any case, it doesn't really mean much. Will Smith in his typical role and Tommy Lee Jones as a counterweight form a tandem in the fight against a lot of rather childishly designed aliens. The special effects in MiB films are usually not very high-quality, although I must say that - considering the datedness, it is still quite doable. In terms of humor and action, it's not really top-notch, although it's all still manageable. The film, almost 25 years later, still looks nice and there was probably never more to be made of it.
