Overrated classic, which is no longer of this time. These kinds of films with all kinds of romantic clichés are now no longer possible. It also got unnecessarily long-winded at the end. Grant and Kerr weren't really great either, actually expected more from them in terms of chemistry. Anyway, maybe I went into this movie with the wrong approach, because I secretly hoped for more fun instead of this melodramatic stuff...

Nice film in which an engaged man meets another woman on a cruise ship. A beautiful love story. However, the film could easily have been a lot shorter and is now rather long-winded. Perhaps a bit old-fashioned, but at the same time also a beautiful image of the time. The sparks may not fly, but Deborah Kerr and Cary Grant are pleasant to watch.

Adultery was never so romantic. Romcoms are usually a genre that plays on the sidelines and are considered corny. But in the days of old Hollywood, the genre was still very strong. With beautiful dialogues, appropriate sets and costumes and, above all, a lot of charm between the actors. Actors like Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr know perfectly how to play the genre and the charisma jumps off the screen. An Affair to Remember is not that special, it is especially beautiful in its simplicity. A love story with a pinch of drama. Not a movie that really sticks in your mind, but one that I enjoyed quite a bit.
