Kitano stars in Takeshis' self in a movie about himself. Beat Takeshi is a well-known star, but one day he meets his doppelganger, Kitano, a humble grocer who hopes to break into showbiz one day. Beat Takeshi becomes so fascinated with the man that he begins to suffer from hallucinations and imagines himself to be Kitano.
