A decent horror movie. There is nothing more to say about it. The well-known subject a lot of blood. Few scares, which is a shame.

Surprisingly effective horror work, skilfully directed by Jon Watts, who makes his debut here, who is now a member of the premier league with the most recent Spider-Man films. Although he doesn't have a big budget, he knows how to make the most of it, with first-class special effects and beautiful camerawork. The cast is also doing well. The slow pace is a minor niggle, but the uncompromisingly bleak storyline and mysterious mythology behind the title character are first-rate.

Body Horror meets Slasher!

Quite hard and brutal for a Hollywood movie!

The film builds up pretty quickly and feels more and more uncomfortable. As a result, the film easily looks away and there is actually a constantly threatening atmosphere because you can feel Kent's irritation. The film almost feels a bit claustrophobic in the beginning because of the suit. The small self-harm like aches and pains also bring with them a dash of discomfort. Kent's appetite for children is increasing quite slowly and this is complimented by the growling of his stomach and the vague look he gets when he sees children (which also startles him).

The phone conversation with Karlsson was pretty goofy and weird by the way, but I'm not sure if this is supposed to be the case or if it was just a moment of bad acting.

The lore about The Cloyne was well thought out and compliments the film immensely!

When the film changes atmosphere, things go wild, but the strong pathological drama aspects remain present and this enhances the atmosphere enormously! If you can't stand the murder of children then you better skip this movie...

The scene in the play paradise is so ingenious and brutal! I'd seen Clown before when it was just out and that scene was still fresh in my mind!

That grandpa has been irritating me the entire movie...what a nasty character...just a walking horror cliché!

Good ending but nothing really special.

☆3.5
