I'm never that critical of sports films. Certainly not in baseball movies. Yes, it's all a bit sentimental, but the Olympics also make me cry almost every day.

Often beautiful acting. The scenes with the Owls are almost documentary in nature and I also like the film work. I found Rachel Griffiths out of place in this film - not because she plays badly, but because I'm distracted by the much more interesting roles she's played in the past. A role as passive as this one annoys me a bit. I really liked the son, the directing is also very detailed in that regard: the camera zooms out and the son jumps off the stand. He doesn't sleep on his side like so many sleeping children in movies, but on his stomach with an almost drooling mouth on the pillow. Beautiful details that touch.

The story put me on the wrong foot a bit, despite the great predictability. At one point Morris says that the Owls are a special club, and I eventually expect him to go back to Big Lake to give them a future too, but that is not fulfilled at all. It's all about his career. Beautiful role by Brian Cox. It's always a pity if a movie title isn't unique, especially if the previous movie with the same title wasn't made that much earlier.

I love sports movies and it's always nice to see a movie like this on the BBC without commercials. I didn't know this true story yet and it is very special how Morris still gets the chance to show his talent in the Major League, after of course it didn't look like it for years.

It has a nice structure. Training the boys and eventually winning the title is very playful and there was clear chemistry between the cast. The difficult relationship with his father is strong. Strong woman behind her, cute kids, maybe a little too cute, but I overlook that.

Got goosebumps when Morris was called to pitch in that huge stadium. The respect that he had to earn everywhere and be rewarded in this way. Yes, I like watching these kinds of movies!

A film from the Disney stable with the inevitable sentimentality, as usual a little "Too" at the end.

The father-son relationships are neatly portrayed and that the film shows many similarities with other American ball sports films must be admitted.

Overall, however, enjoyable with good acts.
