Still a strong drama/coming of age film.

Ortega plays very well and shows that she can also handle the more serious roles.

I am afraid that she will be cast too often as a teenager in the future ... we will see.

Here and there there is a comic note in the film and that is well applied.

Fine film with other actors who play their roles above average.

Nice.

Given that the recent years in America have brought more and more school shootings, it only makes sense that these types of films would also rise sooner or later. I always find the events themselves interesting, albeit insane. The Fallout, however, is a film that moves a bit more towards the after-events.

This time Ortega gets the space to prove herself and her acting skills. As an actress, I haven't seen much of her. I know her from a number of horror movies, this is actually the first real dramatic role I see of her. And she solves it well, it is easy to see why her name has ended up on several film prints these days.

Within 10 minutes the event is already over, and you don't see anything explicit about it. So the fans who like fictional documentation of these kinds of events will be disappointed. The film is never very exciting, in the end the film could also stand on its own if it disconnected itself from the event shown. After 30 minutes it can be called a coming-of-age film.

While the acting is good, the characters are never really sympathetic or relatable. There is little to notice of the life they lead. Park maintains a consistent tone, but can't really distinguish the film itself from similar films. It is understandable that this one is perhaps extra appreciated because of the underlying themes, but for me it doesn't change much.

I couldn't get into it very well, but as a film it is a bit tighter than the average level of American dramas. For that I give the film a pass, but otherwise it couldn't touch me anywhere and towards the second half it was mainly watching until the closing words roll across the screen. Interesting for the enthusiast, for me not much more intriguing than an average drama.

Hardcore Gen Z movie. Thoroughly enjoyed it, feels totally in tune with the zeitgeist. Jenna Ortega is really excellent as a figurehead, you can even call this way of acting Gen-Z (Maddie Ziegler also does a good job, with a completely different approach). Shailene Woodley (1991) then suddenly belongs to the old generation. Great soundtrack and score too, with Finneas having a feature for Maisy Stella in the third track, 'Gone'. =0cUSBK6tvfU]here for a funny connection).
