Mediocre film in which a rich art dealer tries to save his marriage and in doing so forms a special friendship with a homeless man. Based on a true story and in itself a beautiful story. However, emotionally it is sometimes too thick (especially the death of his wife) and the difference between rich and poor is treated somewhat superficially and tamely.

Oh, this was a terrible film. Based on true events too, but it is presented with such terrible self-satisfaction that there is a big chance that you will experience a visit to the dentist as less scary. As if it were a Bible lesson from a few centuries ago, we are being forced to swallow for two hours that the world consists of good, forgiving people who ensure that the slightly less good people become better people again, which unfortunately does not result in a good or better film. The only positive thing is the strong performance of Hounsou who is allowed to play an old wise, Clarence Seedorf-like colored man with great dignity. It is impressive that he does this so well and unperturbed, despite all the fuss around him. Zellweger is more whiny than ever and also looks strange. Kinnear is normally always good, but inexplicably walks around with a straight face all the time while the most terrible things happen around his character. Well, this is indeed one of those movies where in the last part someone gets terminally ill again, and then we get to experience the entire grieving process including the inevitable funeral and aftercare in detail.....subtlety is a word that does not exist in the world of director Carney. Skip this, goosebumps in the worst way.

A typical American bland Christian inspired movie. With an unrecognizable Zellweger, who I didn't think was a top actress before her plastic surgery....boring stuff
