beautiful film, saw it years ago and watched it again today. Although the enchantment was gone the first time I watched it, I still think this is a great film.

Fantasy and reality intertwine and fantasy wins......great!

Mediocre film about two brothers who move with their mother and where their mother gets a new boyfriend. The film starts well (especially because of the retrospective view), but it quickly becomes long-winded. The drama part is also all too exaggerated and incredibly elaborated. The film also looks good.

There's something not right about that movie. The direction was nicely done and some issues were handled well, such as not showing the stepfather (with the intention of dehumanizing him) and the infectious brotherly bond. But escaping from child abuse is also a serious piece of false sentiment that you cannot believe in. Because the stepfather will clearly never be part of the family again at the end of the film, it is not true that the boy is away from home for good. And the narrator (Tom Hanks), who looks back with nostalgia on such painful and even traumatizing memories, also makes the film very unrealistic at times. In my opinion, Radio Flyer is partly a failure. I thought the same theme was better developed in This Boy's Life (1993). With some mildness 3*
