Fait d'Hiver plot

Louis Riquier, a divorced man, locks himself up at home with his three children and barricades doors and windows. He refuses to return the children to their mother, who has custody. Police officer Ducroix investigating the case knows Riquier well because he had him under his command during the war with Algeria. He knows that he is easily angry, that you have to be patient with him and that eventually you will succeed in convincing him. But he also knows that he is a balanced man, who feels the victim of injustice. Ducroix spares no effort to talk to him, but realizes that justice wants to see progress in the whole affair.
