Desert Hearts plot

"In 1959, Vivian Bell came to Reno, Nevada for a quick divorce. Of all the people she met there, the one who surprised her the most was herself."

Vivian Bell, a professor of English Language and Literature, travels to Reno, Nevada, to get a quick divorce from her husband. She stays with Frances Parker and falls in love with her lesbian stepdaughter Cay. The relationship that develops between the two causes quite a stir.
