Mahanagar plot
When Subrata Mazumdar's family cannot survive on his limited salary, they decide that his wife Arati will also work. In the 1960s Calcutta, however, this can hardly be accepted by the environment, especially when Subrata loses his job and the whole family is dependent on Arati.
