Man in the Vault plot
"Forced Into Crime To Save The Girl He Loved!"
$200,000 owned by mobster Paul De Camp is in a personal safe deposit box. His former partner Willis Trent wants to appropriate that amount for himself. For that he needs to find someone who is good with locks. That someone is Tommy Dancer, a simple locksmith with ambitions. Trent offers Tommy $5,000 to make two keys to fit the safe, but he declines. After threatening violence, Tommy has no choice but to accept this task. He has since built a relationship with Betty Turner, a girl of good descent. When Tommy sees Betty step out of Trent's house with Trent's lawyer, her ex, he thinks she is cheating. He decides not to give the keys to Trent but to steal that $200,000 himself, with all that entails.
