I had actually expected the film to be a bit funnier, but now I found the film to lean quite a bit towards drama, especially towards the end. Not that the movie was bad, I just didn't expect it.

The acting was fine, Adam Sandler was also on a roll.

The film could have been a bit shorter, but it certainly didn't get boring.

Excellent film in which a single mother from Mexico goes to work for a wealthy American family. Wonderful characters that are well developed and this also applies to the situations that result from them. This produces some beautiful scenes (such as the translation scene with mother, daughter and the father of the family). A fine cast with Teá Leoni perhaps going over the edge, but that's nice to see.

Busy.

Film with a lot going on, but not in the way you would think. It mainly has to do with Leoni's character and those who have already seen the film will know what I mean. A wall of words is actually thrown at the viewer.

As a viewer you never really catch your breath. The story moves quickly and the emotions are played with a lot, very much. Regularly a few screaming scenes where you are relaxed when nothing is said for a while. All in all this is still ok.

However, the comedy isn't that fun. Fairly subtle, but also just humor that I don't like very much. Although that didn't come from Sandler. He can do a bit more than most of the roles he plays, actually I prefer to see him in these kinds of roles.

I don't understand how this cost 80 million anyway. Apart from beautiful locations, there is really little to enjoy visually. Camera use is quite boring and the beautiful locations themselves could have been a bit nicer in the picture for an extra sunny atmosphere.

In terms of acting, it's fine. Vega is fun, Sandler is also on a roll and Leoni, despite her somewhat busy nature, is actually good too. The children and Leachman were also in good shape. It all remains believable thanks to all that.

Film is sweet, but you never get a really warm feeling and the ending seems to be a bit unsatisfactory actually. The holes are actually not completely filled properly so I was not very satisfied. I would have liked to see an epilogue afterwards.
