Swimming Pool plot

"On the surface, all is calm."

Sarah Morton is a well-known British detective novelist. Tired of London and seeking inspiration for her new novel, she accepts an offer from her publisher John Bosload to stay at his house in the South of France. It's the off-season, and Sarah sees that the clean local scenery and slow life is just what she needs, until late one night John's brash French daughter Julie suddenly arrives. Sarah's English reserved demeanor is challenged by Julie's very liberal, sexually challenging lifestyle. Their interactions create increasingly uncomfortable dynamics and begin to influence Sarah's creative writing process, as Sarah finds herself drawn to a mystery Julie carries with her.

As far as I'm concerned, it's a strong, good film. An exciting story/mystery. Very well played. It looked smooth and pleasant and it held me in its grip. I want to see these kinds of movies more often. An 8. 4*

Wonderful movie. The decor is formed by a large house somewhere in the south of France, including a swimming pool. It is a simple but very beautifully decorated house with warm colors. With interiors I always think like this: act normal, then you act crazy enough. Nice calm camera work with a pleasantly serene playing Rampling. The story may not be that deep, but it is good enough to provide a touch of mystery. Do like films in which a somewhat strict elderly woman becomes under the spell of a young frivolous wench and vice versa.

Ludivine Sagnier looks gorgeous and sexy. It would almost make you straight.

Swimming pool

Francois Ozon is one of the filmmakers of the new wave of French cinema and for me he is the most admirable of them. Ozon has made many long and short films and the filmmaker has a cinematic style and personality. One of the most important features of his cinema is the combination of the real world and the virtual world. In the movie "Swimming Pool", he was able to depict it beautifully and easily with the design of the space, cinematography and excellent decoupage, and at the same time, he was able to capture it and surprise the audience. The tone of his film)swimming pool) is such that it enters aspects of human life that are forbidden and taboo. The physical aspects and bodily and complexity of relationships have always been important in his films, and it is the same in swimming pools.

Swimming pool is a different and unconventional film that is very simple and very complex. The film is considered very strong in its cinematic structure. Framing is thought and calculated. I enjoyed watching this movie as much as Ozone's other works.
