"A family decalres war - on itself!"
John Gisberts is a helicopter pilot with the Dutch army. He lives in a spacious villa with his wife and their four children, just like the relatives of the other officers. However, there is no such thing as a warm family atmosphere. John himself is hardly at home and his wife is not averse to a slipper. Their two youngest sons, Jan-Julius and Valentijn, do not receive a proper upbringing and the two teenagers in the family, Thijs and Madelon, are thoroughly tired of the irresponsible behavior of their parents.

Unbelievable that the rating of this absolute classic is below 3 at the moment. Also indicates that times have changed... if you read some reviews, "the youth of today" don't understand much. Also really complaining about the sudden number of Dennis for example... just super funny and absurd, like the whole movie actually, so in that respect it fit perfectly. The whole movie is also full of nice subtle details, which gives it all a bit more depth. You can really see that a lot of work has been put into stuffing the entire film with all kinds of different entertaining elements, which also make a whole.
I watched it myself years ago, and again just now. Still think it's great. The only downside I can think of is that the momentum goes down a bit in the middle, but you can also see that as a deliberate breather before the finale. Very funny ending too. They are no longer made like that...

Laugh.
Still well entertained with this super exaggerated Dutch film. It sometimes feels wrong, because the then quite young lead actress takes off her clothes quite often, but yes. Van Hemert hasn't made much better after this.
The acting is, yeah, what can you make of it. You don't have to expect brilliant things from those little ones, and it's clear that a lot of things have been dubbed. Akkemay and Schaafsma are nice actors and play well.
Not very special, and very poor image quality, but with some sense at 0, this homegrown film is quite enjoyable. Don't expect realistic things or a masterpiece, but it's nice to see once.

No, not my thing. Really like films from the Dutch soil, but this one really doesn't make any sense.
Of course, it is not easy for many families. Especially when the kids hit puberty. Patience and parental behavior are then put to the test. Those can be tough times for many parents, but what we get to see in this film is of course no longer about anything.
Your family is your worst enemy, that's what matters. Children who never want to see their parents again and who completely terrorize them with all the consequences that entails. Bullies that come out of the throat after a while. It goes from bad to worse and then it all becomes too exaggerated and fake. The very last scene ruins things even more, car with parents in it that ends up in the water and it is nicely poured over with sand. Nobody notices, sees anything, no.. parents have disappeared from the face of the earth for good 
Voilá, all problems have been solved! There are still a number of cringe-inducing bad and unnecessary scenes. That boyfriend who suddenly starts singing and everything looks rosy. Oh, oh how bad.
This is also not a comedy, but a drama film with light thriller moments. I didn't even laugh once to be honest. The only thing that was good was the acting. Sufficient for everyone, but the rest .. no, big insufficient.
