Das Geschenk plot

At her brother's elegant country villa, Marlene Frischmann organizes a perfectly organized children's party for her son Theo. Balloons, a gluten-free cake, a piñata, and even exotic animals are expected to make the day unforgettable. But the carefully planned party quickly spirals out of control and descends into a turbulent chaos, filled with discussions about parenting, role models, and parental ideals. The escalating chaos is fueled in no small part by Marlene's boisterous brother Timo, her headstrong father Hans, her devoted colleague Jenny, and a gift with unexpected consequences.
