Pepi, Luci and Bom are three girls from Madrid in the punk era. A fascist cop raids Pepi's kitschy flat to harass her over cannabis plants growing on her windowsill. He rapes her and thereby takes away her virginity, which she would have loved to keep. That's why Pepi goes out for revenge, along with her friends.

Now I've seen a lot of Almodovar, but this really takes the cake 
. It's actually a pretty bad movie with a vague story, but it's so vulgar, funny, ridiculous and original that I had a great time. Badly acted, badly filmed, badly constructed, no identification with any character, but really funny. I have to restrain myself from giving examples, but that would spoil the fun. Almodovar says on the back of the cassette "I made a film exactly the way I wanted it, without rules and without conventions." If that was his only intention, then he completely succeeded .
When I first read the synopsis here, I had to laugh at 'He rapes her and takes her virginity, which she so much wanted to keep. ', because yes, that is really bad luck, poor thing. But in the film it is indeed treated that way, gosh what a shame about that virginity, I would have liked to sell it to someone. You can't deny the film an optimistic view of the world 
.
I don't really know how to judge it, the other Almodovar films are also unbelievable and ridiculous (although they secretly do characterize their characters and a whole layer of society in a beautiful way), but they are also very well made. But I know for sure that in a year I will still think back to this film with a smile, and that amateurism is also very charming, and fits the mentality of the film. So it deserves 3.5 *, if only not to scare off other future viewers .

A very old Almodóvar, but also clearly a kind of amateur film made with crappy material. Visually not particularly beautiful either. Every now and then the bright colours that became his trademark appear (a bunch of flowers on the ground) but that remains limited. A strange film otherwise (there is a scene where a woman pees in another woman's face) and not always to my taste. The characters also only managed to captivate me moderately. 1.5*.
