La Chèvre plot
The clumsy Charbyt, daughter of a wealthy and important businessman, goes missing during a vacation in Mexico. Detective Depardieu is tasked with looking for her along with father's clumsy accountant Richard. Richard's search method is more successful than Depardieu's serious detective work. Because the accountant is just as clumsy as the daughter, he naturally follows in her footsteps, makes the same mistakes and falls into the same pits. Depardieu eventually resigns himself to Richard's success and a special bond develops between the two.
