"Le Château de Ma Mère" is an intimate and nostalgic look at the youth of the writer Marcel Pagnol in the rolling hills of Provence in the early 20th century. Marcel (Ciamaca) is now about thirteen years old and yearns for the holiday every day. One day his family turns their backs on Marseille and Marcel leaves for the countryside. The journey on foot past majestic estates and castles is always an adventure, the countryside the setting for his first timid steps in love and friendship.
