John (Jack Lemmon) and Max (Walter Matthau) are two elderly neighbors. They argue all the time, and this for 50 years. When Ariel (Ann-Margret) moves in near the men, both are attracted to her, which makes their rivalry even stronger than it already was.

Nice film in which two elderly neighbors are chasing the same woman. It takes a while for a story to really get going. Quite entertaining, even if the humor is a bit on the brave side. Obviously the film's greatest asset is the two old hands Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau as the grumpy old men.

As far as I'm concerned, it leans too much on the talents of Lemmon & Matthau and for the rest is mainly a predictable whole. Ann-Margret is also doing a great job! 
I had the strong idea that more could have been done with actors of this level, unfortunately I can't get further than entertaining.

Mediocre.
Rather tame family film, which relies entirely on the frenzy of Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau. It is anything but special, but it nevertheless looks nice and the predictability does not detract from the whole. Just a meaningless snack.
