The China Syndrome plot
"Sometimes it’s too late to tell the truth."
While doing a series of reports on alternative energy sources, reporter Kimberly Wells happens to witness a near miss at a nuclear power plant. Wells is determined to bring the incident out into the open, but soon finds herself faced with a conspiracy aimed at keeping the incident a secret.

Before the bomb falls.
Nice thriller, which at the time caused quite a stir because of the rise of nuclear power plants. The acting is strong, but Lemmon steals the show as the sane expert. Douglas produced this classic himself.
The worst nuclear accident in history would take place in Chernobyl, Russia, seven years later. For a moment we were not allowed to eat lettuce in our cold frog country, but apparently the nightmare machines surrounding us do not instill fear in anyone today. Doe Maar and Herman van Veen filled the eighties with worrying songs about the 'core' of the matter.

Beautiful film in which a reporter witnesses a near-nuclear disaster at a nuclear power plant. Realistically portrayed (so there is no music). The technical part and especially the whole human factor is portrayed credibly and fascinatingly (the hierarchy and the employees who try to keep their jobs). Some pretty exciting scenes and a strong role from Jack Lemmon.
