The story is set in the world of Emperor Penguins in Antarctica. These penguins each sing their own song to attract mates. Unfortunately, the son of Memphis and Norma Jean, Mumble is the worst singer imaginable. However, he tries to compensate for this with his exceptional tap dancing skills.

As a young penguin, Mumble [EG Daily] discovers that he is an outcast in his group. In a colony where everyone can sing excellently, it turns out he can't do anything about it. He can dance, but his parents [Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman] consider that an abnormality. Years later, Mumble [Elijah Wood] accidentally comes into contact with a group of penguins led by Ramon [Robin Williams] who revere him for his dancing skills. Penguins singing and dancing are cute (and the animation is impressive), but it would be nothing more than a gimmick if Miller, Morris and co-screenwriter John Collee didn't see to it that it serves a story of discovery. and embrace your talents, regardless of what your immediate environment thinks about them. Miller, EG Daily, Hugo Weaving and Magda Szubanski previously collaborated on the equally disarming Babe. One warning: Williams is quite emphatic and that can be against you.
