Doing business is like shitting. It has to go smoothly. It can be placed on a tile. That and a sweet dog in a fierce, ferocious action stamper with a whole host of familiar HK heads. Cheesy as fuck of course, but with that it tackles the flaws that are associated with such a film. Hysterical screams, roaring bursts of laughter, soapy drama and groaning guitar whining. To name a few. Don't worry, the girls dance nicely.

You can probably laugh about it, so I will too. In addition, it has showers of sparks, conflagrations, bloody knives, whizzing bullets, bouncing bodies and no mercy. It can't end. Tough, sexy (okay, in a filthy way), as rough as the nits and Lam wants to find a way to make it look nice too. It flutters towards the final, but manages to do it brilliantly a few times.

I went to watch this movie because I really like "payback" with Mel Gibson. Then I read that this movie is based on the story "the hunter" by one richard stark. Just like point blank (also very good, the first film adaptation). Full contact is the Asian attempt to film this book. But I don't think anyone has read the story or seen point blank. That story is so good and that they made it into this is really unbelievable. All the exciting and intelligent aspects have been stripped out and replaced with a lot of overacting, guns and explosions. Yes, it's nice, but it really has nothing to do with the book anymore. That bullet scene is cool and there are certainly some other nice finds and action scenes in it. Yun fat is not doing his best here and that oversexed bitch is completely annoying. Only if you like Hong Kong action.

Great action flick from Hong Kong, in which only the relationship vicissitudes of protagonist Chow Yun-fat let things stagnate every now and then. For the rest, there is little wrong with Full Contact (Xia Dao Gao Fei) from 1992, Chow Yun-fat also convinces here on the other side of the law, Simon Yam his direct opponent gives an excellent match and is perhaps the greatest asset of the film. Finally, Anthony Wong (who broke through with this film, among others), does a nice job as a plaything between the two ruffs. Also noteworthy are two of Yam's supporters, Bonnie Fu as Lau Ngang and Frankie Chi-Leung Chan as Psycho, both extremely annoying but they do give Full Contact something extra.

The story is otherwise not very original, but with all those excellent action scenes, that is not really a handicap here.

Ringo Lam took care of the professional direction and beautifully portrays the various shoot-outs, chases and other acts of violence. Consider this one of his most successful films.

Nothing remarkable about Full Contact, but for fans of the better action film, this is definitely recommended. Good to very good.
