As humanity recovers from the major damage wrought in Transformers: Dark of the Moon, the Autobots and Decepticons have all but disappeared from Earth. But a small and powerful group of businessmen and scientists are trying to push the boundaries of human technology further than ever before. Further even than they can control. Finally I understand Michael Bay!
Every new Transformers movie is made to make the previous Transformers movie seem intelligent, funny and coherent by comparison. genius!

More of the same.
With an even higher budget, a longer running time and a new protagonist, this could have been even better than the other 3 parts, but Bay actually just keeps his film at the same level as its predecessors, so a normal one is sufficient.
Fully cared for visually. The designs are cool, the action can sometimes be sure and the transformers look great again. Bay is indeed a director who really knows how to use the budget optimally, but never has the inclination to get a top film out of it.
Storyline is almost the same as previous parts. A somewhat stiff and boring start that ends with a long final phase full of explosions and action. This movie is the same. Only the beginning was more interesting than previous parts because the tone is more serious.
Unfortunately, the film also has to give up a bit in the final phase. The action is well made, but it's not very exciting. Tension is almost gone, and is a bit more boring and predictable. The moment the spaceship flew over Hong Kong, the film revives a bit, but is soon over.
Outside of that, not everyone's acting is very special. Peltz is nice, Wahlberg is also doing his best and Tucci is good again. However, there are also disasters such as Bingbing. It's a shame that the film has to be under such influence from other countries again. Probably related to budget increase.
For the rest it all takes a very long time, a little too long this time, but it's fun. So the figure is again a decent enough.

Mediocre film in which only a few of the Transformers are on Earth and hide from humanity. This fourth installment is more of the same, despite a new protagonist. The transformers are a bit annoying and the same sometimes goes for the clichéd characters. There is no shortage of explosions and the film contains some fine CGI action scenes. However, it really goes on for far too long.
