Edge of Tomorrow plot

"Live. Die. Repeat."

In the near future, the Earth will be attacked by aliens that no military power can cope with. Major William Cage (Tom Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a battlefront up close until he becomes involved in a suicide mission. He is killed in minutes and then mysteriously ends up in a time loop, where he has to fight the same battle over and over and die every time. But after each battle, Cage is able to offer more resistance to his opponents, thanks in part to the help of Special Forces fighter Rita Vrataski (Emily Blunt). With each battle against the aliens, Cage and Rita get one step closer to defeating the enemy.

Not long ago I saw palm springs and I liked the groundhog loop more. Maybe that's why she liked it a little less.

What annoyed me was that Rita often reacted in camaraderie to a guy she's barely known for a few hours. But what really pissed me off is that apparently they can't learn from those mistakes and they just pick up where they went wrong last time. I mean: recruiting his comrades shouldn't be easy peasy, isn't it? Find the location of that omega? Go to that office, stick the thing in his leg, "The Louvre said?", headshot, then kinda start planning djeezes...

Bon the action was witty, acting standard, for the fans: the lead roles are a man and a woman so there will be some, fortunately limited, romance and at the intro my Subwoofer was able to let you know that he was there.

Stoneware script, stoneware execution that will stand the test of time.

You're from America?
No, I'm from Kentucky.

A very decent sci-fi/action movie starring Tom Cruise. Tom Cruise himself is quite appealing to me. I think he's a great actor and at the end of the 90's he also showed that he could act. We hardly saw that after the 90's, because since then he has developed into a macho/action hero, where he mainly does a lot of the same.

However, this film is a little different. Cruise starts out as a kind of anti-hero, who doesn't feel like playing the hero at all, because he thinks he isn't at all. The story is certainly well developed, with the necessary clichés, one of which I find really bloody annoying.. always but that kissing of the protagonists at the end of the film, I think is really bad.

I personally did not find the film really exciting or adrenaline-pumping and therefore the film did not make the impression it wanted to make. Yet this is a surprisingly well-developed Tom Cruise film with the right comic notes, which makes the film even better.
