False Witness plot
A large amount of heroin is found in a container allegedly sealed by British diplomat Ian Porter. Scotland Yard investigates the case and ends up in the world of espionage, counter-espionage and terrorism. When Porter is questioned, Commander Julie Hales learns that Porter has befriended Krousov, a notorious heroin smuggler. Seeing an opportunity to finally catch this criminal, she offers Porter immunity if he testifies against Krousov. Porter and his ex-wife Pippa are sent abroad to start a new life, with a new identity.
