Death of a Gunfighter plot

Marshal Frank Patch, who has been watching over security in Cottonwood Springs for more than 20 years, is no longer taken very seriously by two young businessmen. They want fresh blood into the marshal's office. When Patch shoots drunk Luke Mills in self-defense, the two businessmen seize the opportunity to get Patch away and turn to Andrew Oxley, publisher of the local newspaper, for help. However, Patch refuses to resign and leave Cottonwood Springs. Patch also ignores the advice of his old comrade Lou Trinidad to leave after the death of Andrew Oxley and the death threats from his son Will Oxley. Patch even marries Claire Quintana, the owner of a brothel and saloon. But then Will Oxley shows up at the wedding…
