"SEE THE ACE AMATUER SLEUTH OF RADIO AND FICTION SOLVE THE STRANGE SLAYING OF WALL STREET'S RICHEST WIDOW!"

Private detective Ellery Queen and his father, Police Inspector Queen, receive a call from philanthropist Augusta Stack, the owner of a private hospital. Strange things start happening at her hospital late at night and Augusta Stack wants father and son Queen to get to the bottom of this. Shortly after the arrival of both Queens, it turns out that a wealthy old woman was injured in a suspicious car accident and then strangled on the operating table. The suspects include John, Augusta Stack's greedy son, head nurse Marian Tracy, and medical director Dr. Edwin L. Janney.
