I expected a lot more from this.

Was disappointed from the start when I saw that on arrival in Windermere the children didn't look so marked after all. An educator asked the same question about this and received the answer: "You should have seen them three months ago" where I then ask myself why they then stole the bread from the table to eat it hidden like starving, after they still had already been better fed for 3 months.

And for the rest, it didn't convince me either. As already mentioned, actually too superficial and too rushed.

This was a good movie. I thought it was good that it was once a film set after the liberation. You don't see these kinds of movies very often. I thought it was interesting and the film could easily last a little longer. The cast did an excellent job. Do recommend him!

An interesting film about Jewish children who were taken care of in the Nazi camps in Great Britain after the liberation. It is often a story that is less known or told: what happened to the survivors of the liberated camps? And as expected, not everyone was thrilled about their presence. This was also later repeated by the very empathetic Oscar Friedmann: "the world is not waiting for you", "your incomprehensible suffering is no reason to ...", "if you want to achieve something in life, you will have to go for it yourself", etc...

It is not entirely clear to me in the film how much time there was between the liberation in the camps and this reception. Still, the film gives a good look at what happened. The film also ties in seamlessly with the documentary, which I would definitely recommend if you watch the film. Repetitive, yes, but also extra enriching.

Perhaps not always as profound and especially fragmentary superficial of a number of events. But otherwise certainly entertaining enough to keep you interested for 90 minutes.
