The Killer Meteors is a strange action/thriller. Or rather, action/crime.

Chan plays Jimmy Wang Yu's enemy here. He's a sort of gangster with a lot of power. But he often doesn't appear at all. He appears three times in the film, each scene lasting no more than a minute (or barely). So if you're looking for a film in which Chan plays the lead role, this is definitely not the one you should look for. The fact that he's promoted first in the cast is because he's more famous than the rest of the cast.

Regarding the film. It was finished in 1974 but wasn't released until two years later. The story is nonsensical and some elements are bizarre. Some of these ancient Chan films suffer from this. So, you have to be a fan of this. If you really like the Rush Hour films, for example, and would like to delve deeper into Chan's older work, you might be better off watching films like Police Story, Fei Lung Maang Jeung (1988), and Long Xiong Hu Di (1987). There were some decent fights, like the strange one at the end where enemy Chan meets his end.

For the rest this is a great movie but I don't give it higher than 3.5.

Revisited on Blu-ray from 88Films. Also known as The Cometic Killer, it's Jackie's third film for Lo Wei Motion Picture. He just had his eye surgery and teeth repaired. After the two box office flops of New Fist of Fury and Shaolin Wooden Men, Jackie landed a role as a bad guy opposite the more famous Jimmy Wang Yu, who had already made a name for himself in the late 1960s and served as co-director. It was filmed in Korea.

We follow the feared and unbeatable fighter Killer Meteor (Wang Yu), named after the secret weapon he carries. He becomes entangled in a complex plot full of deceit and deception, ultimately pitting him against another Immortal Meteor named Wa Wu-Bin (Jackie Chan).

A mediocre film with a confusing story that makes no sense. A lot of characters are dragged in by the hair, and by halfway through, you've forgotten who they were. In terms of fight choreography, I thought the fight in Wa Wu-Bin's (Jackie Chan) palace was the best. Chan's role is small, but he still manages to impress with his cunning and arrogance; I think he pulls it off quite well. The music was borrowed from King Kong '33.

Again, only recommended for the real diehard Jackie Chan fans who want to see all of his work.
