A decent thriller, much better than expected. A captivating story in a film that sometimes looks a bit messy, but there was also a lot I could appreciate: the bad guy, classic film noir touches (especially visible in the good finale at a train station), and a few suspenseful moments. There was also a surprising jumpscare. From the start, it is clear that Emily Crane is a "pain in the ass," and naturally, shortly thereafter, she sticks her nose into matters that don't really concern her again. It's a shame that this thriller was received so lukewarmly at the time.

By now seen it many times, yet this atmospheric thriller, which is indeed inspired by the work of Hitchcock, still manages to charm me.

Journalist Emily Crane accidentally witnesses how an American politician is involved in the illegal immigration of German war criminals who enter the country using false identities of deceased Jews.

The film exudes a nice paranoia atmosphere, and Emily quickly gets into trouble and cannot trust everyone.

The climax at New York's Grand Central Station is amazing!

A nice film in which a photojournalist discovers that Nazis are being smuggled into the country. A somewhat simple and fairly predictable plot. The film is set in New York in the early 1950s and is well-dressed for that setting. Well-constructed scenes with a fine finale making nice use of Grand Central Station. Just shy of 3.5 stars.
