For me it was the first in the butterfly series (shortened version of 82 min). This made it a new and inventive concept for me that I certainly liked. The story was well put together, tension was built up. I certainly enjoyed it. I'm already looking forward to finishing the first part. The acting performances of version 3 were nothing to write home about.

I still want to make a comment to Daoneandonly Before he jumps, he DOES know where he should be.... You missed that in the movie. I also disagree with your comment about fingerprints. He does indeed leave fingerprints on his Rebecca (his girlfriend) and Liz (her sister), but as a boyfriend it doesn't seem suspicious to me that there are fingerprints in your sweetheart's room and on her car... Besides, he leaves only fingerprints on the back of the 3rd lady who was going to be killed, but this one is NOT killed anymore because of him.. Why would the police then look for fingerprints there?
I thought it was a good movie. At the end there were a few things that annoyed me: there were some (small) mistakes in the film, you could feel the perpetrator coming miles away and especially the last time travel is completely ridiculous. During the movie it is mentioned that going back to the same time twice is completely impossible, because you will go crazy. Which he does at the end without a problem, to actually kill his sister. Which I also don't understand, because originally his sister had supposedly died and then he saved her. This means that she would also have died WITHOUT Sam (her brother) not letting her out of the room.
This somewhat lesser ending ensures that the film ends up with 3 well-deserved stars from me.

After that terrible part 2 I didn't have so high expectations for this part. It's still not as good as part 1 but everything that part 2 fell short this part has. Including innovation and unpredictability. When the perpetrator became known I thought WTF?! but after the explanation it all seemed quite logical. I love that Of course I saw the last time travel coming right away.

But still I have come across a LOT of strange things and/or plot holes. Some have already been mentioned below.

Time travel seems to be different than in parts 1 and 2. There you are sent back to the time you want in your OWN body at the place where you were at that moment. Here it seems that you are allowed to know where you put yourself. Does this mean there are 2 versions of you walking around? That wouldn't be possible, because then he would have encountered himself in the last time travel where he was saving his sister. In addition, it is said somewhere in the film that you CANNOT return to the same time multiple times. Another 1: I must have missed something, but the serial killer was created AFTER he first went back in time to change his girlfriend to die which even failed. The victims turned out to be the girls he would fall for. But why did he never meet the one in the 1st timeline?

Better.

Being much less than the second part wasn't much of a challenge. You only have to portray it less bare and you are then already at about the same level. I watched both sequels on the same night, because I loved the first part so much. Unfortunately, that can't really be said of these sequels, which are just less serviceable.

This time a completely new event. Perhaps it is a recognizable point of this series that it always wants to go in a different direction with the sequels, with new characters. The second part seemed to move a bit more to the good side like the first part, but this third part comes out a bit bolder and more graphic. Also necessary if this time it's a kind of serial killer story about it.

The acting isn't great and as the second half kicks in it all loses some steam. Fortunately, the first half still manages to get something out of it. Especially with some pretty brutal murders that are edited quickly, it still manages to make some impression. The film also decides to do something new with the concept. This does not have much to do with the butterfly effect, but the happenings of time travel are well known in this series.

It's entertaining and it flows nicely, but it's still a bit of a half-movie. One that can't really do more with the concept. Maybe the films are just not fresh enough after the first part, but it's nice that they have at least managed to boost it a bit. The evening was not broke, but disappointing.
