I thought this was a great movie at the time. I like subtlety and un-American action. An interesting fact, the story in the story, indeed just like in eXistenZ and in The Matrix, which all came out at about the same time. Only The Matrix got a lot of attention, the rest unfortunately didn't.
I really like the atmosphere of the 'old' time and the traveling back and forth is exciting. It looked like a quest game to me.
I want to see it again soon.

Original story, lousy execution.

Besides the fact that there are 1001 plot holes, the film is ruined by the bad acting. This makes the already unbelievable story even more laughable. The romance was once again completely out of place, and the action was very mediocre. The idea is admirable, but how dare you elaborate it so poorly..

2*, and then I'm actually still mild.
