"Are you the exception... or the rule?"
A group of people in their twenties and thirties in Baltimore try to manage their love life, in both single and married life. Gigi looks for a man who says he's calling and actually does. Janine isn't sure she can trust her husband. Anna can't decide between the sexy married man and the honest Conor, who is always there for her, but just won't let the spark fly. Beth and Neil have had a great relationship for years, but can't figure one thing out: she thinks it's time to get married, while he likes this single life, with her, just fine. And Mary, who has built a network of sweet, caring men but has yet to find one who is straight.
