A mediocre comedy/crime film...

Old fashioned recording...

Fair story...

Decent acting...

Well known actor Robin Williams...

Reasonable background noise

(no Dolby Digital present)...

Good picture (no HD available)...

Not worth it...

An entertaining comedy drama, which - just when the film seems to be sagging - is saved by the strong supporting role of Tim Robbins. The characterizations are not particularly strong, but the casting is good, so that the actors, through their own personalities [Williams, but also Fran Drescher and Pamela Reed], still manage to breathe life into these characters. Never boring, but only hits the nail on the head a few times. And bravo to Drescher's dog!

It's going well.

The film starts a bit too nervous, but that is typical of a project by/with Robin Williams. I am not the biggest fan of that. In a way it remains digestible here. Maybe because the scenes are often short and therefore have no time to get exciting.

Halfway through, Tim Robbins enters the picture, someone I don't think much of. In my opinion, he doesn't act particularly well either, but his character does liven things up a bit. The hostage situation comes out of the blue, but that's also its great strength, in my opinion. It ensures that the film remains ridiculous. Williams can also do his thing and that works wonderfully.
