"A man's got to know his limitations."
As a union leader, Carmine Ricca (Richard Devon) was suspected of murder, but acquitted due to lack of evidence. One day he is stopped by the motorcycle police and shot. Inspector Callahan (Clint Eastwood), nicknamed Dirty Harry, is interfering with the case, even though he was transferred to another department for reaching for his Magnum .44 caliber too soon. Harry wants to try and expose the commando that aims to track down and kill criminals who have slipped through the cracks...

Usual hard police film, slightly less qualitative than Dirty Klabak, but no less entertaining for that.
Harry is back and more unpopular than ever. This time, a different set-up is chosen and a slightly more complicated plot than the first, where we know from the start who the perpetrator is. Although, after getting acquainted with the four motor mice, it's pretty clear to me. Only Halbrook's involvement remains somewhat shadowy until the very end.
Other than that, it's much of the same, women who practically throw themselves at his feet, I don't notice very much in the first one, the heavy drone of a Magnum .357, chases, fights and of course a grumpy Eastwood.
Nice for entertainment.

Excellent film in which a group of cops take the law into their own hands and shoot criminals. Compared to the first film, Harry is portrayed more extensively here (his private life). A number of well-constructed (action) scenes with excellent location work. Also a great plot and Clint Eastwood remains extremely enjoyable as Dirty Harry.

For me personally the best from the Dirty Harry series. Clint is the one and only "king of cool" to me. Many scenes from that film have stayed with me, with the "vigilante" cops shooting criminals in cold blood. Harry will soon have his hands full with it. The mastermind behind these actions was quite surprising. A lot of hard violence, from hard fighting to popping magnum, and the Callahan humor is by no means lacking. A topper from the 70s that will celebrate its 50th birthday next year.
