"Dirty Harry is at it again"
Detective Harry Callahan, better known as 'Dirty Harry', is on the trail of a murderer who ritually kills his victims. He absolutely wants to catch the gangster and makes fun of the rules. His superiors do not accept this and send Callahan to San Paulo, a town north of California. He is not warmly welcomed here either. For some inexplicable reason, the chief of the local police would rather lose him than get rich. Dirty Harry is introduced to Jennifer Spencer. She and her sister were brutally raped ten years ago.

Do they really jump from part 2 to number 4 with Veronica as far as Dirty Harry is concerned?
Well, it doesn't get any better. Not only does Eastwood chase his girlfriend at the time, but the atmosphere, under the direction of Eastwood himself, turns into crazy with that dog, for example. The action is still decent, but otherwise it's a mediocre display in my opinion. This one is somehow considered pretty good but I wouldn't know why anyway.

Good film in which Harry Callahan goes too far and is sent away by his superior. The first half is somewhat fragmentary, but entertaining to see how Harry makes life miserable for the various criminals. The second half is a bit more plot-oriented with a good revenge story. Again, of course, a fair amount of violence in this only Dirty Harry film directed by Clint Eastwood himself in a new decade.

And so Harry Callahan made it into the '80s. Personally, I think Enforcer is the least of the series.
Sudden Impact is a very different Dirty Harry movie that puts more nuance in some of the characters. For example, the murderous Jennifer Spencer cannot simply be put in a box. It's a Dirty Harry episode that's actually quite anti-Machistic and I found that quite extraordinary within this series. Callahan himself is no less hard and tough than in previous films. There's some serious popping going on in the film, and Harry seems more impatient than ever with the scum. After the "Scorpio Killer", the bad guys were among the better ones in the series, especially that marginal bitch.
