Sometimes a mediocre horror series suddenly has a film that rises above the average level, of which this fifth part is a good example. Director Neal Sundstrom conducts an interesting whodunnit in which a number of guests take turns being eaten by a werewolf within an authentic castle. Production returned to European soil and that makes for a nice choice of location, despite the lack of tension. Fortunately, there is a nice and mysterious atmosphere, which made me appreciate the final approach. The acting, on the other hand, leaves a lot to be desired and the murders are too tame to make an impression, but this event was significantly more interesting to watch than the previous parts. However, I must admit that I have a soft spot for these types of stories, in which you as a viewer are forced to think along with the ignorant characters.

(Were)wolves are shy animals and avoid being in the spotlight. This one too. Too bad all the murders happen off-screen. Very disappointing not to even have the werewolf properly in the picture. That makes us conclude that the movie poster and the photos that can be found are quite misleading.

The film starts about 500 years ago. Later it also becomes clear why and all the guests seem to have more in common than first thought. Actually it is more of a mystery detective. Who is the werewolf? In that respect it is exciting, but I did not find it real horror. Because of the tension and the atmosphere in the catacombs I can still give it 2.0*. Mixed feelings already. Climax at the end is still successful.
