Al-murashahat Al-muthalia plot
Due to a combination of circumstances, the young doctor Maryam Alsafan accidentally registers as a candidate for the municipal elections. She soon realizes that she can ensure that the ill-maintained access road to the hospital is finally repaired. With the help of an online step-by-step plan and her two sisters, she still sets up an election campaign. But it soon becomes apparent that Maryam has to get male voters on her side to have any chance of success and that seems a bridge too far.

Interesting to take a look at the Arab world; how the man still dominates the woman there, unimaginable... But I didn't really find this film very interesting. Too slow, too little... Although the acting was good.

Interesting insight into the strongly patriarchal Arab society where the relationships between men and women are examined. So nothing new under the sun and nothing surprising that the position of women is not exactly equal compared to the male population.
Still, the film gave me a fresh impression. Of course you first come across some striking situations in which the conservative man refuses help from a female doctor, but I was very impressed by the strong performance of Mila Alzahrani, who carries through with the necessary flair and préséance. guides the film.
It may have been viewed from a simplistic, ignorant Western perspective, but apart from a number of conservative views, I thought it was quite strong that despite everything she still commanded the necessary respect and could still afford quite a bit. As mentioned here, these are social rights that are gradually gaining access in this form of society.

Not the first film about the difference in rights between men and women in the Arab world, but still a convincing one.
The scornful attitude of men towards a woman who dares to raise her voice is indicative of that world and extremely painful.
"Wadjda" is indeed a bit stronger in expression, but it is not a bad thing that situations like these are increasingly coming into the spotlight.
