Kijkt bij vlagen best lekker weg, maar de vervelende grapjes die telkens zo zelfvoldaan worden gebracht begonnen mij op een gegeven zo de keel uit te hangen dat ik de film wilde uitzetten. Toen bleek de film gelukkig al bijna afgelopen te zijn. De laatste zin van de plotbeschrijving komt overigens echt pas in de laatste twintig minuten aan bod.

Degelijk gemaakt sportdrama dat mij niet wist te raken. Iets te veel binnen de lijntjes, nergens ook maar iets onverwachts of een begin van een rauw randje te bespeuren. Soms nogal overdreven cliche sentimenteel (dame in de bar met die ring...), of wat te denken van die houterige slowmo's. Zo worden ze tegenwoordig niet meer gemaakt.
