Lane Myer is obsessed with his girlfriend Beth and his world collapses when she falls in love with Roy, the captain of the ski team. After multiple suicide attempts, surviving multiple bereavements from the newspaper deliverer and intolerable dinners with family, he finds a new love: a French student named Monique Junot. Meanwhile, he must uphold his name by beating up Roy.
