Hi-de-Hi! plot

It's the summer of 1959 and "Maplins" employees determine that the vacation camp is now run by Jeffrey Fairbrother (a former college professor). He is clearly not qualified for the position. He means well, but his absent-minded and academic approach is in stark contrast to that of his team. This team includes Ted Bovis, who had actually hoped to be assigned the camp leadership, Spike Dixon, the camp comedian, the so-called Yellowcoat, Mr. Partridge, the drinking organ and puppeteer on duty, the snobbish dance couple Barry and Yvonne and the bumbling, hyper-nervous chambermaid Peggy. A lot of misunderstandings because of the unfathomable ways of love, unfulfilled desires and very entertaining situations

Hi-de-Hi! season 1

Real English comedy by Croft and Perry, who also brought Are you being served and Allo Allo to the screen. The humor is of the level of theater comedy that was enormously popular in the 70's, 80's and early 90's. Misunderstanding after misunderstanding coupled with hierarchy and the undermining of it in a simple way still makes you smile today. From a neutral observation it is impressive to see how much nonsense has been invented by the makers. I think the first 4 seasons are the strongest. Especially when Jeffrey Fairbrother leaves, the makers are clearly looking for a new hierarchy in the acting line.
