The Split plot

The Split is about the fast-paced circuit of powerful female divorce lawyers from the perspective of three sisters Hannah, Nina and the youngest, Rose. Hannah and Nina are leading divorce and family lawyers at competing firms, while Rose is still searching for her place in life. Despite their strong career, the sisters' private lives are not exactly a bed of roses. Their father has been absent for thirty years and when he suddenly returns, this causes quite a stir. This is also made more difficult because they are simultaneously busy with big, complicated matters at work.

Lawyer series about family business that specializes in personal and family law. But not only the customers need help, also the sisters themselves in their own lives. Divorces, adultery, children's wishes; no shortage of dramatic ingredients. The Split feels like the serious brother, eh .. sister, of the successful series Cold Feet, but lacks, especially in the second part of S2, the lightness and humor. Totally British, but with a substantial Dutch contribution. Paula van der Oest directs, Barry Atsma plays colleague Christie and offers the unsurpassed Nicola Walker good counterplay. Maybe a little soapy at times, but British drama can't get much better and more intense.

This time the emphasis is even more on drama than in the first season, but these six episodes are also very strong. The characters come into their own a little more and the storylines are, if possible, even more catchy. In addition to the presence of Barry Atsma, who is again doing well, the series has a Dutch touch this time: Paula van der Oest directs the first three episodes. I think that the cake with this second season is a bit over, but if there is a third, I'll be there again.
